2258 Air Spring Conversion Kit
Convert torsion spring mini mills to air spring.
Newer mini mills use a torsion spring mounted on the side of the column to support the head. This kit provides all the parts required to change to a vertical air spring that mounts inside and above the column.
With the air spring installed, you can move the mill head up until the top of the casting is almost flush with the top of the column. You can move it down until it almost contacts the adjustable Z-axis stop set in its lowest position.
Besides all the parts required to mount the air spring, this kit also includes a longer Z-axis rack so you can take advantage of the longer head motion.
This air spring has about 35 pounds of force. This is not enough to totally support the head, but it is a heck of a lot more support than the torsion arm provides. |

1525 Bed Extension Kit 12"
This kit turns your 7x10 lathe into a 7x12 lathe. It includes a bed casting, a lead screw, a rack, a chip pan, 2 chip pan braces, several fasteners, and complete instructions.
The 7x12 bed is actually 4" longer than the 7x10 bed.
This is NOT a bolt-together kit. You must drill and tap 9 holes in the new bed casting to match your lathe. You need three metric taps: M3x0.5, M6x1, and M8x1.25. If you don't have metric drills, you can use letter and number drills for tap drills. (The sizes are given in the instructions.)
In spite of the picture, the beds are painted red to match Harbor Freight lathes, and the drip pans are black. |

1815 Motor Controller Upgrade Kit
This kit upgrades the motor controller on Grizzly, Cummins, and Homier mini lathes. It also upgrades Harbor Freight mini lathes with the big red "emergency" switch.
The motor controller in this kit is the standard speed control for the mini mill. It is designed for a 350 watt motor. The mini lathe has a 250 watt motor, so this provides some extra capacity.
This controller has built-in overload protection and an interlock that forces you to turn the speed control to zero to start the motor.
This kit includes the motor controller and installation instructions, with wiring diagrams. It is a "bolt on" upgrade for most 7x12 mini lathes. It might require some re-wiring or changing of connectors for early Homier and early Cummins mini lathes that have two circuit boards.
