Collection: Cutting Fluids & Compounds

Cutting fluids and compounds are both used to manage heat, reduce friction, and protect tools and workpieces, but they differ in formulation, performance, and application.

Cutting fluids are liquid-based (oil, water, or oil–water mixtures) designed to cool, lubricate, and flush chips from the cutting zone. They are used in a wide range of operations such as milling, turning, drilling, grinding, and tapping

Cutting compounds are solid or semi-solid lubricants (often paste, gel, or aerosol) applied to the tool or workpiece surface. They are not liquids and are used where liquid fluids are impractical or undesirable.
