Product Information
Description
Mini bench-top drill press with a 1HP (600 watt) brushless motor and tapping function. This small but powerful unit utilizes direct drive (no belt) giving a high amount of torque for drilling and tapping. In addition the machine has a foot pedal that reverses the spindle in tapping mode. This pedal frees up your hands to give you more control.
The control panel has a large LED display screen showing spindle speed as well as spindle travel. Control buttons include a "0" function, tapping mode, spindle reverse, On/Off, light On/Off, drilling depth setting, and a speed control dial. A small light is mounted on the underside of the headstock and controlled at the control panel.
The feed handle assembly may be mounted on the right or left of the machine based on user preference. The headstock is mounted on the column top and the column is bolted to the base. This assembly is done when you unpack the machine.
The drill press has a cast iron base with two 5/8" t-slots and tilting table with an additional two 5/8" t-slots. The tilting table can rotate 45 degrees in either direction and moved 360 degrees around the central column.
The users manual has recommended speeds for drilling and tapping functions across a range of materials. Here are the maximum recommended capacities for each:
Max Drill capacities:
- Steel 0.5" (13 mm)
- Wood 1.3" (32 mm)
Max Tapping capacities:
- Steel 0.3" (8 mm)
- Cast Iron 0.4" (10 mm)
Spindle speeds are 600 - 3000 RPM for drilling and 400 - 800 RPM for tapping.
The swing (distance from spindle center to column) is 4.7" (120mm). The overall height of the machine is 22" (570mm).
The 1/2" drill chuck holds standard cutting bits and drills. The chuck is pressed onto a #33 Jacobs taper spindle arbor.
