The Arthur R. Warner Co. is a family-owned American manufacturer of high-speed steel products with specialization in cutting, shaping, pre-grinding, heat treating, and finish grinding of premium grades of flat high-speed steel (and tool steel).

AR Warner (Arthur R. Warner Co.) turning tools are highly regarded, particularly for manual machinists and home shop machinists, because they combine the convenience of indexable inserts (no grinding) with the forgiving nature of High-Speed Steel (better finish and operability vs. carbide). They are ideal for smaller, less rigid lathes that lack the speed for carbide.

Our high-speed steel Indexable Turning Tool Set was first introduced in July of 1998. Since the introduction, we have expanded our range of Turning Tool Sets with the appreciated input from numerous Home Shop Machinists. Our kits have been very well received in both the hobbyist and manufacturing markets.

Our kits contain T-15 HSS inserts. Most machinists are familiar with "Steel" tool bits and Carbide inserts, and now they can achieve the convenience of indexability while using a cutting material which is typically better suited for their smaller lathes and milling machines.

Use T-15 HSS for:

• Interrupted Cuts
• Underpowered Spindles
• Gummy material like stainless, aluminum, and brass
• Less than rigid setups

Overall, we consider T-15 HSS to be the best grade of readily available HSS for wear. resistance, toughness, and hot hardness. The inserts are easily sharpened so while they may initially cost more than a carbide insert, they last much, much longer.
