Fox Chapel Publishing was founded in 1991 by Alan Giagnocavo, who relocated from Canada to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The company was named after the local Fox Chapel community, and it quickly became known for its focus on woodworking books and magazines.

Over the years, Fox Chapel Publishing has expanded its portfolio to include a wide range of topics, such as quilting, sewing, coloring and activity books, children's books, home repair, cookbooks, gardening, homesteading, woodworking, scroll saw, pets, travel, and journals.

The company has published more than 3,500 books and introduces nearly 200 new titles each year, ensuring that it remains a leading resource for enthusiasts in the field of woodworking and related interests.
