Tap Guide, Machine 2901  (Discontinued) 

This tapping guide is used to facilitate power tapping with a lathe. Put the tap in the chuck on the tapping guide and put the extension rod into the lathe's tailstock drill chuck.

Then, as you tap the hole, the handle and chuck are free to move away from the lathe's drill chuck. Simply release your grip when the tap reaches the correct depth.

The tap guide is 6.5" in overall length.
