Connection stud with threading on both ends to secure the DRO read head to the cross slide. As the cross slide is moved along the Y-Axis, the DRO scale moves along the read head.

Double ended studs that conform to DIN 938 have two external threaded sections divided by an unthreaded section.

The short threaded section is fixed in length of 1 x diameter. The short end is typicalled installed into a tapped hole or fitting. The length of the long end will vary depending on the length of the stud.

Both ends are designed for internally threaded fasteners such as a nut or a bracket.

The nominal length of the stud is the calculated by adding the length of the unthreaded section plus the long threaded section.
