This is the screw that advances the cross slide for the cross slide extended travel kit.
It is generally intended to be sold with full Kit (https://littlemachineshop.com/products/extended-cross-slide-travel-kit )
The thread pitch is 1 mm so the compound advances 0.040" (actually 0.0394") per revolution. Use with a dial that has 40 divisions.
