Chris's Tips

Double ended studs that conform to DIN 938 have two external threaded sections divided by an unthreaded section.

The short threaded section is fixed in length of 1 x diameter. The short end is typicalled installed into a tapped hole or fitting. The length of the long end will vary depending on the length of the stud.

Both ends are designed for internally threaded fasteners such as a nut or a bracket.

The nominal length of the stud is the calculated by adding the length of the unthreaded section plus the long threaded section.
