Description
Dasqua 150mm Length X 2.5mm Width 5 Piece Premium Magnetic Parallel Set. Excellent in high precision work for mounting parallel components in machine vises or jigs. Newly designed embeded magnets leaving your hands for clamping and setting up reduce the clamping time significantly
Set of five pairs of thin parallels. Each parallel is 150mm (6") long and 2.5mm (0.1") wide. The height of the parallels range from 25mm to 47mm in the following sizes: 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 47mm (1", 1.37", 1.57", 1.77", 1.85").
Made of high grade alloy steel, hardened to 55-60 Rc. The parallels have a height tolerance of +/- 0.005mm and a width tolerance of +/-0.01mm. Precision ground as pairs.
The parallels are magnetic to allow for easy placement which will reduce clamping time.
A sturdy case in included.
Chris's Tips
Vise jaws are often too deep for the work. In general, you want the top of the work piece to extend above the top of the vise jaws. To fill the gap from the bottom of the work piece to the "ways" of the vise, you use parallels.
Parallels are strips of metal that have been carefully ground so that the top and bottom edges are parallel with very tight tolerances. They usually come in matched pairs. Place one parallel adjacent to each jaw in the vise and place the work piece so it rests on the parallels.
