Description
This package contains our best versions of all the tooling you need to be productive with your 7x mini lathe from day one. It assumes an existing quick-change tool post for which 3/8" tooling is ideal. If you are using a stock turret tool post, we recommend 5/16" tooling.
- The 1/2" capacity professional grade drill chuck (3153) is mounted on a short 2MT arbor (1804) for the mini lathe. Specifically designed for the mini lathe tailstock, the rated capacity is 1 mm (0.039") to 13 mm (0.512"). All working parts are hardened. Chuck key included. The arbor has a #33 Jacobs taper mount. This chuck is comparable to a Jacobs 34-33 heavy duty drill chuck, including the runout specification of 0.004" (0.10 mm) or less.
- Indexable turning tools (4132) are made by Arthur R. Warner Co. in the USA. These precision tool holder kits use carbide inserts and include three styles of tools, AR right hand, E Neutral (threading tool - 60-degree angle), and AL left hand. Kit includes three tool holders, three TCMT-21.51 inserts, one extra TCMT-21.52 carbide insert, one extra Torx screw, and one wrench.
- The 3/8" diameter indexable boring bar (1779) uses CCMT inserts and is 6" long. The minimum bore diameter for this is 0.50". The boring bar takes CCMT 21.51 or CCMT 21.52 inserts.
- The premium P1 parting blade (1729) is 1/16" x 1/2" x 3-1/2" and made from M2 HSS by Arthur R. Warner Co. in the USA. These T-shape parting blades provide great side clearance.
- Center Drills (4859): Five sizes combined drills and countersinks made of ground high speed M42 cobalt steel for good wear resistance. Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 with 60-degree counter sinks.
Chris' Tips
Our 2MT SHORT Arbor is specifically designed for use on most mini lathe tailstocks. It gives you almost an inch of extra space between centers.
Don't buy this product for other small lathes that accept a standard arbor, as it won't eject from the tailstock when you retract the quill. You may need a standard-length drill chuck arbor.
