Product Information
Description
Learn how to grind tool bits with this set. The presharpened tool bits show you how the finished product should look. The unsharpened tool bits give you plenty of practice.
The presharpened tool bits are ground in the same manner as hand-ground tool bits so they provide an example of how to properly grind tool bits.
All the tool bits are M2 high speed steel. M2 is a high speed steel in the tungsten-molybdenum series. The carbides in it are small and evenly distributed. It has high wear resistance. It is used to manufacture a variety of tools, such as drill bits, taps and reamers.
Chris's Tips
We are big fans of High-Speed Steel. Find out why... What's So Good About High-Speed Steel?
We carry both imported tool bits made of M2 high speed steel and American-made tool bits made of T-15 high speed steel from the A. R. Warner Co.
AISI M-2 is an all-purpose grade with notable toughness. Good wear resistance and hot hardness qualities.
