T-15 is a tungsten type super high-speed steel containing high vanadium for excellent abrasion resistance and cobalt for good red hardness. AISI T-15 is ideal for cutting difficult to machine materials where high frictional heat is present.

Use T-15 HSS for:

• Interrupted Cuts
• Underpowered Spindles
• Gummy material like stainless, aluminum, and brass
• Less than rigid setups

Overall, we consider T-15 HSS to be the best grade of readily available HSS for wear resistance, toughness, and hot hardness (significant improvement over imported M2 steel).
