This 1/4" square high speed steel tool bit is pre-sharpened for internal threading.
An internal threading lathe cutting bit is a tool used to create internal threads, or threads on the inside of a workpiece, in a lathe. It features a 60 degree cutting tip that is ground to a fine point and can reach up to 3/4" into a workpiece to create precise and accurate threads.
The cutting bit is made of high speed steel, a durable and heat-resistant material that allows for high speed cutting without dulling or wear.
The cutting bit is mounted in a holder and is used to cut away material as the lathe rotates the workpiece, creating a precise and accurate thread.
This internal threading lathe cutting bit is suitable for use in a wide range of materials, including steel, aluminum, and brass, and is able to create threads with a minimum bore size of 0.50".
