This package includes the 6450 HiTorque Deluxe Mini Mill with LED display, the 3489 R8 Mini Mill Tooling Package, and 5629 Stand cabinet.

The mill in this package is the HiTorque model 6450. The mill has the standard HiTorque features including solid column, brushless motor and NSK branded bearings. In addition, this mills has:

- 3-axis digital readout (DRO) with Bluetooth and 7" tablet display.

- Electrically interlocked spindle lock.

- Machined aluminum handwheels and Z-Axis drill handles.

- New easy-to-read LED display with built-in spindle speed readout.

The 3-axis tablet display DRO connected via Bluetooth to magnetic scales on the table and column. The DRO system provides measures for the X, Y, and Z-axis in increments .0002" and comes factory installed on the mill.

The 500 Watt brushless spindle drive motor provides tremendous low-end torque. And you can vary the speed from 50 rpm to 2500 rpm continuously. There are no gears to shift. And, with no gears, the HiTorque Mini Mill is quieter than other mills in its class. NSK brand spindle bearings ensure smooth and quiet operation.

An electrically interlocked spindle lock ensures easy and safe operation. This mechanism makes tool changes easier, faster and safer. When engaged, the plunger automatically drops into the locking hole as the spindle is rotated. An electromagnetic interlock disables power to the motor, locking the spindle.

The large mill table provides 50% more table area than other mini mills. It also has 30% more travel in each direction. The re-settable feed dials allow you to zero them at any point.

This mill has a solid dovetail column (it does not tilt side to side). This construction is significantly stiffer than the tilting column on other mini mills. This model also includes an air spring head support for even movement through the Z-axis range of travel. The drill press handles are for drilling and fast motion of the mill's head. It also has Z-axis fine feed with 0.001" resolution for milling operations.

This machine is shipped completely assembled and adjusted. Machined surfaces are coated with a viscous oil to prevent rust. It wipes off easily with a rag; no solvents necessary.

The tooling package has all the essentials for basic mini mill operations and is bundled to work with the 6450 R8 mini mill.

The stand cabinet is sourced from the same factory as the mini mill so the drip tray has pre-drilled holes for mounting the mill. It also has cutouts on the base for securing the cabinet to a shop floor. The cabinet itself is ideal for storage of tools and accessories.

*NOTE* We ship machines only to the US and Canada.

Take a look at the HiTorque 6450 mini mill in action.

Here's Using the Bluetooth DRO Display.

For more information on the Bluetooth DRO, visit the Bluetooth DRO Package page and the Android Tablet page.

You can compare the specifications for our mills.

The solid column is much more rigid than the tilting column.

Some people may feel that the tilting column is a feature, but I have used a mini mill for many years and never tilted the column on purpose.

Let's compare the LittleMachineShop.com Solid Column HiTorque Mini Mill to mini mills with a tilting column.

The tilting column on other folk's mini mills tilts 45 degrees from side to side. This has several advantages. First, it is possible to make some angled cuts. It's also easy to tram in the X-axis. One user (and only one) has described to me a cut that was impossible to make any way but using a tilting column.

This mill has a solid column. While it is harder to tram in the X-axis because you must use shims, it is not as easy to knock it out of tram as the tilting column mini mill. The solid column has thicker walls than the tilting column, and a stiffer joint where it joins the base, so the column is significantly more rigid than the tilting column.

LittleMachineShop.com no longer sells mills with a tilting column. That is an indication of how much better the solid column is.

Here are the user's guides for our machines.

  • Only one shipping charge for entire pallet (up to 700 pounds total). The shipping charges shown above cover the cost of shipping the machine and anything else that you purchase with it, including a second machine, stand, tooling, and accessories.

  • A "commercial address" has a sign with company name, a public entrance and posted hours of operation. If you are running a business at your residence without a public entrance and posted company name and hours of operation it is considered a residence and a not commercial address.

Canadian Shipments

Truck Freight shipping to Canada involves 3 distinct charges in addition to the product costs. (All amounts are in US Dollars, see the current mid-market exchange rate.)

  1. Canadian Provincial Taxes (GST, PST, HST) depending on which province the shipment is going to. This will be 5% - 15% added to total sales amount depending on province (Canadian Sales Tax).

  2. Hemisphere Customs Brokerage which handles all customs clearance requirements. This is a flat fee of $108 on any shipment.

  3. Truck Freight from Southern California to destination in Canada. This is generally $300-$500 for residential liftgate delivery and appointment for single machine + tooling orders. Delivery to a terminal for pick-up or a commercial location with loading capabilities can reduce this cost substantially.

Inside Delivery

For many years we have offered INSIDE DELIVERY for an added charge (as set by freight carriers). Unfortunately, most carriers have stopped this practice for liability, cost, or other reasons and we can no longer reliably offer it. If you really need Inside Delivery, please give us a call and we can try to help with your specific situation. Our recommendation however has always been to call some friends or find someone local. Saves some money and lets you meet the neighbors....

Alternatively, companies like Navis Pack & Ship (www.gonavis.com) or similar may be able to help you pack up a machine, or move it into your home/shop.
