This kit includes 1 meter (39.4") of magnetic scale that you cut to the lengths required for your machine. The instructions tell you how to measure and cut the magnetic scale. This package includes what you need to put a DRO on most any milling (or 3-in-one) machine. It includes a section of scale, three read heads, and a Bluetooth transceiver. Typical mounting bracket designs are included in the instructions. However, due to the wide range of possible applications, appropriate brackets cannot be supplied. You must also get an Android tablet for the display on this DRO. We recommend a 7" screen size, and the tablet must have Bluetooth capability.

Lathe mounting arm for the hard wired (traditional) DRO display. This mounting arm is designed to be mounted on the backsplash of the lathe, positioned as best meets your needs. The arm can be rotated to the desired angle and tightened into place. The arm is 220mm (8.7") long x 20mm (0.79") wide, and 40mm (1.6") tall. The end of the arm has a 10mm hole which is designed to accommodate the mounting pin on the back of the hard-wired DRO display. The base bracket has two les for mounting hardware. The baseplate is 74 mm x 50 mm (2.91" x 1.97"). The vertical post is approx. 80mm (3.1") from bracket to horizontal arm. The bracket is painted with a high-gloss heavy duty black paint. Bracket comes with mounting hardware.

This conversion kit will essentially convert our #1810 rotary table to one like part number 2420. For existing owners of the #1810, this unit saves money by upgrading your existing table to DRO.

Each one-meter section of magnetic scale includes six plastic end caps for mounting. When measuring a scale for cutting, measure the length of the aluminum channel before the end caps are installed. One meter (39") is enough for a three-axis DRO on most small mills. The scale consists of an extruded aluminum channel with a magnetic strip in the channel. The magnetic strip is protected by a stainless strip. You simply cut the scale to the lengths you need and install the plastic end caps. Measure the travel of your machine and cut the scales to the full travel plus 2.5". This allows for the width of the read head plus about 0.5" for over travel.
